What is hdyrotherapy?
Hydrotherapy is physical rehabilitation using the resistance and buoyancy properties of water to facilitate low impact exercise. Our gentle entry heated hydrotherapy pool allows for a safe environment and our pet CPR-certified hydrotherapists are always there to ensure quality care. The addition of our underwater treadmill allows for proper gait and paw placements. We work with your veterinarian to make a plan and facilitate their recovery. Hydrotherapy Pool
The hydrotherapy pool is 12x24ft and the salt water is heated to 31.5 degrees Celcius year round. The warmth allows for better muscle elasticity, vasodilation, and general swimming comfort. Private shower and drying room attached to the pool room for easy coat maintenance post swim.
Underwater Treadmill
The underwater treadmill is a walking belt inside a glass-walled tank. While the tank slowly fills, the buoyancy of the warm salt water supports the dog's body weight, while the water's resistance builds strength. We adjust the water height, temperature, and belt speed to fit each dog's specific needs. Private shower and drying room attached to the pool room for easy coat maintenance post-session.
Rehabilitation
Outside of the water, we offer a range of additional services to help improve mobility. Depending on your dog's needs and the rehab plan prescribed by your veterinarian, we can assist you with passive range of motion, massage, and specific exercises, especially if you need more guidance to get the perfect technique.
Gym
Not enough space or time to set up and take down all the equipment for your dog's program? Check out our fully equipped gym with proper rubber flooring, which provides excellent traction and cushioning. We have three different sized treadmills specific for dogs (with optional incline), cavalettis, platforms, bands, vests, balance equipment, hills, and more!
